THE BBQ CONTEST IS CLOSED

The Jasper Strassenfest Barbeque Contest was was started in 2009 as a way to show the folks in our area what Competition Barbeque is all about. It is also a way to bring in folks from different States and give them a chance to enjoy the Strassenfest and see how wonderful our area is. The first year contest was a huge success and attracted people from 11 different States.

Our Contest is sanctioned through the Kansas City Barbeque Society. We are part of the Hoosier BBQ Cup Trail, and we are an Indiana State Championship contest, as proclaimed by the Governor of Indiana . The Grand Champion of this Contest will have a chance to compete in the American Royal Invitational in Kansas City, MO , and the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue contest in Lynchburg, TN.

Teams can begin checking in Friday at 8:00 am. Judging will begin Saturday at 12:00 noon for Chicken, 12:30 Pork Ribs, 1:00 Pork, and 1:30 for Brisket, with awards ceremony being held at 4:00 at the Gazebo on the Riverwalk Plaza. Thursday arrivals and Sunday departures are more than welcome. Please contact the Organizer if you will be arriving on Thursday.
